It is different when you get the feedback and then you realize, oh that is what everyone is talking about.

Not bad to say... hey we are human and in any ohter situation besides motherhood if an individual didn't communicate with you, what would you do?

I know it is much more complicated on an intellectual level, but on a emotional level it may not be.

People are wired to need the back and forth communication.

Thanks again for sharing and reading. My eldest (now 13) has Autism, severe-profound cognitive delays, a severe seizure disorder (started at 4 months of age), is non-verbal, still in diapers, and assessed at a 10-18 month old level in all developmental domains. For 10 years, that was my life. When I remarried and had 3 more children (now ages 4,3, and 15 months) I was astounded when they developed typically. It is a whole diff. ball game. I feel bad saying this, but its like (for me at least) i finally get the 'warm fuzzies' of motherhood... i went 10 years w/o ever hearing the word "mommy" or "i love you" nor gettng much eye contact, zero conversation, or much in the way of 'affection.' now, i feel like i can get my battery recharged (is that bad to say?!?!?)

enjoy all of your beautiful children! For all they are, all they do, and all the have yet to become :)Alicia Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06244714478310893367noreply@blogger.com
